What is Lash Lifting?

Lash lifting is a technique in which the natural eyelashes are curled. It replaces the use of an eyelash curler.  Lash lifting may also be paired with lash tinting to replace the use of mascara. The goal is to give the lashes a full presence, with little maintenance, for those who are not candidates of or uninterested in wearing false lashes/lash extensions.

How long will your lashes last?

The lifting procedure can last anywhere from 6-8 weeks with minimal maintenance required.  The tinting can last between 3-4 weeks.

Important facts to consider:

  1. Hormones can play a surprising part in how your lashes behave. If you are on any medication or have recently given birth, this can affect how well the lifting takes to your lashes.  If you are pregnant, you will need to check with your GP prior to receiving this service, as pregnancy may restrict you from using any treating medications in case of a bad reaction or infection.
  2. Your lash cycle may affect how well the lashes lift. Each individual lash is on its own cycle, so if lifted at the end of a cycle (the Telogen Phase), they may shed which lessons the lift look.  If lifted at the growing stage (the Anagen Phase), the lift may grow out with it.  The best outcomes are during the transition stage (the Catagen Phase), when there is no growth, but also minimal shed.  Unfortunately, this is uncontrollable and there is no way to determine what stage your lashes are in, so there are always risks with the outcome.
  3. If your lashes are extra oily, the lift may not take at all.
  4. If your lashes are over treated, dry, or brittle, it is not a good idea to receive this service until they rejuvenate. Lash conditioner can be used to help restore.
