(T) Temporary Delays

Drugs/Alcohol – Treatment cannot be undertaken if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol

Allergies – A patch test must be done to avoid complications associated with possible allergic reactions

Retain A within last 2 weeks – Due to associated skin sensitivity, treatment cannot be performed if retain A has been used in the last 2 weeks.

Sensitivity to cosmetics – This could indicate that you may be sensitive to the procedure

AHA Prep (last 2 weeks) – Due to associated skin sensitivity, the treatment cannot be performed until 2 weeks have passed.

Collagen/Fat injections – Will not prevent treatment. Must allow 14 days before the treatment.

Visible skin conditions in the brow area – Conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, severe acne, or any other chronic skin condition will prevent treatment when directly present. Minor skin conditions will not prevent the procedure.

Pregnancy – Due to associated risks, the treatment should not be performed.

Breast Feeding – Due to associated risks, the treatment should not be performed.

(DL) Client Will Need a Note from Their Physician

Medication (especial drugs for mental health) – Side effects may affect healing and recovery from the treatment. If you are unsure of how your medication will react, you should consult your doctor before the visit.

Artificial heart valves/heart problems/blood problems – Clients are more likely to develop blood clots causing serious or even life-threatening complications.

Anemia – This is associated with a weakened immune system due to a lack of iron.

Diabetes – Long-term sufferers may have circulation problems that can reduce healing. Blood is less likely to clot and severe infections are more likely.

Epilepsy – Treatment may be performed when condition is controlled with medication and with consent form a doctor.

Tumors/Growths/Cysts – If they are present in the brow area and undiagnosed, a doctor’s note is required.

Cancer (past 6 months) – Recent chemotherapy treatment will weaken the immune system. Treatment may be performed with a doctor’s note.

Non-Restrictions with Some Risk

Prolonged Bleeding – Heavy bleeding can cause complications during and after the procedure. Pigment retention may be poorer and result in more frequent touch ups.

Trichotillomania – The condition itself won’t prevent treatment, but you should avoid picking at scabs and hair during the healing process.

Low blood pressure – Condition itself will not prevent treatment, but you may suffer from dizziness, weakness, or confusion during or after the treatment.

High blood pressure – Condition itself will not prevent treatment, but pigment retention may be poorer making more than one visit more likely.

Hemophilia – May result in poor clotting and the procedure will take longer to heal.

Thyroid Disturbances – Condition itself won’t prevent the procedure, but the technician must be aware to ensure suitable client care during the treatment.

Alopecia – The condition itself will not prevent treatment; however, effective consultation is required because treatment will be much more visible than those with natural brows.

Healing Problems – Client can expect the healing process to be longer than usual and must follow the aftercare instructions closely during the healing process.

Hyperpigmentation – Condition will not prevent treatment, but skin is thinner skin and more sensitive.

(CP) Cannot Perform

HIV – Due to risk of cross-infection, the client cannot be treated.

Liver Disease – The body is unable to fight off infection, treatment should not be performed.

Hepatitis – Due to risk of cross-infection, the client cannot be treated.

Hypertrophic Scars – Client is more likely to develop scarring, so the treatment cannot be performed.

Keloid Scars – Client is more likely to develop scarring, so the treatment cannot be performed.

Serious heart disorders/blood infections – Due to associated risks, the treatment should not be performed.

Autoimmune Disease – Due to associated risks, the treatment should not be performed.

Hypopigmentation – Due to associated risks, the treatment should not be performed.
