Bladed Beauty by Crys

What are Nano Brows?

Nano Brows are created by using an electric shading pen, much like a tattoo gun, to add semi-permanent pigment to the skin. It is a combination of the shading and microblading technique, as the same hair-like microblading strokes are created using the shading pen to deliver a natural look with better depth. This is a perfect option for clients who have oily skin, darker skin tones, have an active lifestyle, spend a majority of time outdoors, or those who simply want that beautiful natural look that will last MUCH LONGER! Because the shading pen is used, the pigment is implanted deeper into the skin, allowing for longer and better retention.

What is a Nano/Combo Brow?

A Nano Combo Brow, is a combination of Nano blading and a Powder Brow. Penned hair strokes are added to the bulb of the brow (front) to create a more natural look, while adding shading before the arch and down to the tail for a finished defined look.

How long will your brows last?

Cosmetic tattooing is much more superficial than body art tattooing and will only last between 1-3 years. The use of the shading pen extends the life of your brows by a few years and can last up to 5 years depending on skin type and upkeep.  A touch up should be scheduled 6-8 weeks after the first session. This will give the skin time to heal properly and the artist the ability to see what type of adjustments or additions need to be made.  If you want your brows to last, it is best to receive touchups yearly or bi-yearly. Most people will need at least two sessions to obtain the desired results.

Important facts to consider:

  1. Different types of skin retain ink better than others. If you have oily skin you are at risk of rejecting the pigment.
  2. Skin that scars easily is also at risk during the healing process, so make sure to follow all aftercare instructions to the tee.
  3. The procedure can take anywhere from 2-4 hours. The area is numbed for at least 45 minutes prior to beginning. The pre-draw step is the most crucial and can take at least 30 minutes. It is very important that the brows are as symmetrical as possible and that the client is happy with the shape before shading is started.
  4. With tons of practice an artist can almost guarantee that your brows will be twins, not sisters, but there is always a chance they will not be identical. The bone structure and facial features play a huge part in how close we can get your eyebrows to look the same.
  5. Yes, it may hurt a little. The artist will numb the brow area prior to beginning, which will help make the experience more comfortable. She will also use a topical numbing solution between the shading passes on each side, which will ease the pain after each pass. The client may feel some pressure and scratch-like sensation.
  6. It is important to do your research before getting your eyebrows shaded or powdered, and to become familiar with the healing process. Review the dos and don’ts to ensure the best results. It is better to be prepared prior to arriving to your appointment. Brows cannot be wet during the healing process. This means you may want to wash your hair before getting them done. It is also recommended that you limit the amount of sun exposure and sweating your body endures during the healing process. It may cause the pigment to fade or smudge. Also, understand that the brows will lighten considerably after the first session. They will look darker when they are fresh and during the first part of the healing process, but trust the process, they will not stay that way forever.
